These terms apply to the online compounding request path at www.choiceonerx.com/compounding/. They are in addition to our Terms of Use and Financial Policy.
What the fee covers
The compounding service fee is charged by Choice One Rx for pharmacy work: reviewing your request, coordinating your case with the prescribing provider, and preparing and dispensing your preparation if a prescription is issued to us.
It does not cover the telehealth consultation, which is charged separately by the provider, and it does not cover any medication that is not prescribed to you.
We are a pharmacy, not a prescriber
Choice One Rx is a pharmacy. We cannot prescribe, and we do not decide whether a compounded preparation is appropriate for you. That decision belongs to a licensed prescriber exercising independent clinical judgment.
You are never required to use any particular prescriber. You may obtain a prescription from any provider you choose and have it sent to us.
Refunds
- If no prescription is issued to us, the compounding service fee is refunded in full.
- If our pharmacists determine we cannot safely or lawfully prepare what was prescribed, the fee is refunded in full.
- If we cannot ship to your state, the fee is refunded in full.
- If you change your mind before we begin preparing your medication, the fee is refunded in full.
Once a patient-specific preparation has been compounded it cannot be returned, restocked, or resold, and that portion is not refundable. We will always tell you before we begin compounding.
Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved
Compounded preparations are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or manufacturing quality. They are prepared for an individual patient pursuant to a valid prescription, where a commercially available product is not suitable.
Compounding is not a substitute for a commercially available medication, and it is not a lower-cost alternative to a brand-name drug.
What we will not do through this path
- Controlled substances. These cannot be requested online.
- Preparations for anyone under 18 without speaking to a pharmacist first.
- Preparations that are essentially copies of a commercially available product, where that is not permitted.
- Shipping to a state we are not licensed to ship compounded preparations into.
The screening questions
The eligibility and safety questions are a screening tool, not a diagnosis. Answering them does not create a pharmacist–patient or provider–patient relationship, and being told you may continue is not a clinical opinion that any medication is right for you.
Your answers to those questions are processed in your own browser and are not transmitted to or stored by Choice One Rx.
